About Mystery For Joy
Where a dream comes true!
The current owner, Agent21, has long carried a dream of owning his own AM station. It was a project born from a love of radio, music, and the idea that a signal could bring people together. That dream became a reality with Mystery For Joy, a station that now carries the atmosphere of a personal ambition turned public.
The name itself came from a joke between the old main broadcaster Mystery21 and Music 4 Joy. What started as a playful phrase between friends became the station identity: Mystery For Joy. The station is also known by listeners as Mystery 4 Joy, or simply M4J.
Mystery For Joy began as a station that was formerly transmitted from Germany in early 2026 through Mystery21 - The Spirit of Music. That first phase helped shape the station’s identity, its audience, and its early shortwave and internet radio personality.
Since about June 2026, Mystery For Joy has been moving into a broader international transmission model. It began to be broadcast from licensed international stations, including a licence from Woofferton for 9915 kHz. That development marked an important transition from the original German-based reception path into a more international relay structure.
From July/August 2026, the station is also being broadcast from the United States through WRMI, giving the programme a North American path and extending its global listening reach. The station is also looking ahead to future opportunities, including possible broadcasts from Asia and medium-wave activity through Roumoules on 1467 kHz, a French AM transmitter for MW and LW located in southern France and owned by Monaco Media Diffusion, though those are not yet official and remain under consideration.
For listeners, this means Mystery For Joy is a live and evolving station: rooted in the amateur radio tradition, connected to shortwave relay culture, and still growing into its wider international identity.
